Success Stories
When I began working with Alise, she was my 3rd attempt at nutrition coaching. I had been eating 1200 calories a day for over 3 years. I had lost some weight but was stalled in my progress. I have Crohn’s disease and can not tolerate fruit at all and only have a limited number of vegetables my body can process each day.
Every other nutrition coach insisted I needed to eat fruits and vegetables to get the micronutrients my body needs. They refused to listen to the fact that I can not eat them and live any sort of normal life. While I am sure Alise would love for me to eat fruits and more vegetables, she understood that not everybody is the same and following the recommendations for my doctors regarding my health makes the most sense. Plus, who wants to be stuck in a bathroom all day.
She also understood that my fitness goals included losing weight but more important to me was gaining back my energy and training for a half Ironman. She began teaching me why I needed to eat more, the gains I could make from upping my protein and calories and she stuck by me when I mentally struggled to switch my mindset.
Alise introduced changes to my diet slowly so we could see how my body handled each change. We began by slowly ramping up my protein from 90 grams a day to 100 then 110 and so on till we reached 150 grams a day. She then introduced a powdered multi vitamin to help my body get the micronutrients I needed. Slowly but surely, I began sleeping better. Weight started coming off again. My energy increased. My health increased.
I think the reason why working with Alise has been so beneficial for me is she listened. A cookie cuter approach doesn’t work for me. She took the time to listen to what I needed. She pushed when I needed to be pushed and supported me when I needed support. I can’t recommend Alise enough.
